COMMUNITY ACTION OF NORTHEAST ALABAMA STANDS STRONG AMID FUNDING UNCERTAINTY

Rainsville, AL – The Community Action Agency of Northeast Alabama (CAANEAL) would like to address recent information circulating about the supplemental funding related to Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and the impact of external executive orders on funding. It’s important to clarify that the details referenced are specific to another organization and do not directly apply to CAANEAL.

Despite certain challenges at the federal level with program funding, CAANEAL is in stable financial standing. Thanks to the ongoing support from local businesses, organizations, and generous community members, we continue to be able to assist families in need across our seven-county service area. These counties include Blount, Calhoun, DeKalb, Etowah, Jackson, Jefferson, and St. Clair. Our offices, located in Oneonta, Centre, Rainsville, Scottsboro, Birmingham, Bessemer, Albertville, and Pell City, remain open and dedicated to serving the needs of our communities.

While we understand the concern created by the current funding situation, we want to reassure the public that CAANEAL remains committed to providing necessary support, particularly when it comes to energy assistance and other critical services. However, as we navigate these funding challenges, we urge our community to help us continue to make a meaningful difference.  Donations can be made easily through our website at www.caaneal.org/donate, or checks can be mailed to:
